Yoga with Vivien
Viv's yoga classes support the changes and adjustments that come in all stages of life, challenging you appropriately and offering a skillful approach to yoga. Yoga can help immensely with both physical and mental strength and flexibility. She has a friendly, informal teaching style that makes it fun to challenge boundaries while respecting personal limitations.
Pregnancy yoga classes
Vivien is passionate for all women to have a calm and gentle birth experience and feels strongly a few basic skills can offer this to every woman and support their pregnancy in a positive way. Pregnancy is a time of great change and yoga can offer support for all of the typical physical and mental issues that might arise during pregnancy, birth and early motherhood. Classes are friendly, fun and informal and can be attended as stand-alone classes or follow-on from the birth preparation class before.
Birth preparation classes
Each one hour class will cover one aspect of birth preparation, e.g. relaxation skills for pregnancy and labour, breathing techniques for labour, how to help reduce pain, positions for labour, massage and touch, and many more . Every session will be complete in itself but combines best with others to offer a comprehensive overview of the skills needed to have a calm and comfortable labour and birth. There will be a handout for each session. Birth partners are welcome at these classes.
Post-natal Yoga with Babies
Friendly, fun classes offering post-natal women a class that is designed to support you while making your baby totally welcome. You will be supported by Vivien and a friendly group while re-connecting with your changing body in a safe and appropriate way. It's good to gently and safely stretch and strengthen your sleep-deprived body. All mums welcome including beginners with pre-crawling babies - come as you are. There is space for buggies inside and no stairs, your baby is welcome to participate, or stay sleeping in their buggy. Please bring a blanket, towel or mat for your baby to lie or sit on, yoga mats are provided for you.
Birth preparation workshops
These friendly, informal 4-hour session will leave you confident, well informed and prepared for a more calm and comfortable birth. It will include, an overview of labour, birth positions, relaxation techniques, natural pain relief, mental preparation to remove anxiety and fear and more. Great at any stage of pregnancy past 13+ weeks and birthing partners are very welcome to join in. Pre-booking essential. Please get in touch with Clara for booking details or with enquiries. £40 for you or £70 for both you and your birthing partner. The session will run every couple of months so don't worry if there aren't spaces as it will run again.
