Classes begin with a sequence of simple poses, moving towards more challenging ones and finishing with a restorative pose. Each class is different, which means you get a balanced practice, regularly working all the muscles in the body. Classes are both energising and restorative, resulting in you feeling lighter and calmer as you walk out the door. General level classes are suitable for people of all levels of ability and experience, or for those looking to refresh their practice. We build on the fundamentals of yoga, moving towards more challenging postures, creating greater understanding, strength and stability. When appropriate, we use supports to gain the most benefit from the pose. Also included are Pranayama (breath work) and Restorative practices. Intermediate classes are for those with an established regular Iyengar yoga practice. Poses and instructions are more dynamic and students are expected to be able to maintain a steady Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) and Sirsasana (headstand) or to understand appropriate alternatives.Also included are Pranayama and Restorative practices. |
