Or visit www.xenoyoga.com Sam first found the Iyengar Yoga method about 20 years ago, initially in the teachings of Gerry Chambers and Lynda Purvis. She has been practicing ever since with various senior Iyengar yoga teachers form the UK and India.
Now qualified at Intermediate level 2 she is currently preparing for Intermediate 3 qualification. She lives permanently in Bristol with her husband and 2 children, working as an engineer in a company she co-owns with her husband, teaching weekly yoga classes and she is also a freediving instructor. She says: Iyengar yoga is a journey and requires lifetime devotion and study. After my teaching qualification, I travelled to Pune in India to attend classes at the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute, the home of Iyengar yoga . It was a truly magnificent experience and a blessing practicing in the same room as Guruji BKS Iyengar. At 95yrs of age he taught me that a true teacher should be humble and always remain a student in the path of learning. I loved the dynamic way of teaching in the institute and the ‘’no fuss’’ approach, together with a sense of humour & humility which I aim to adopt into my own teaching style. |
