Vivien is an experienced and down-to-earth pregnancy yoga teacher with many years expertise as a pregnancy yoga, birth preparation, and post-natal yoga teacher. Her friendly, accessible, supportive approach is refreshing and means everyone can join in this class no matter your level of fitness or experience. All shapes, sizes, levels of mobility and beginners will feel very welcome.

Pregnancy yoga

Pregnancy is a time of great change and yoga can offer support for all of the typical physical and mental issues that might arise during pregnancy, birth and early motherhood. Classes are friendly, fun and informal and can be attended as stand-alone classes or follow-on from the birth preparation class beforehand. Vivien is passionate for all women to have a calm and gentle birth experience and feels strongly a few basic skills can offer this to every woman and support their pregnancy in a positive way.

Birth preparation classes

Each session will cover a topic of birth preparation, e.g. relaxation skills for pregnancy and labour, breathing techniques for labour, how to help reduce pain, positions for labour, massage and touch, and many more. Every session will be complete in itself but combines best with others to offer a comprehensive overview of the skills needed to have a calm and comfortable labour and birth. More in depth than the overview intensive courses with time to discuss, practice and then take home and try.

Yoga - open classes

Vivien's yoga classes support all stages of life, challenging you appropriately and offering a skillful approach to yoga practice. Yoga can help immensely with both physical and mental strength and flexibility. She has a friendly, informal teaching style that makes it fun to challenge boundaries while respecting personal limitations.  Her classes are open to everyone no matter what your level of experience or fitness.

Post natal Yoga with Babies

Friendly classes offering post-natal women a class that is designed to support you while making your baby totally welcome. Vivien is a very experienced post natal teacher who facilitates a friendly group while re-connecting you with your changing body in a safe and appropriate way. It's good to gently and safely stretch and strengthen your sleep-deprived body. All mums welcome including beginners with babies.  Come as you are on the day and enjoy a warm welcome and some time for you. There is plenty of space for buggies inside and no stairs. Your baby is welcome to participate, sleep, feed, be noisy - it is an easy-going environment. Bring along whatever kit helps you. There is also a play pen we can put up  if your baby is on the move. NOTE: Please bring a blanket, towel or mat for your baby to lie or sit on, yoga mats are provided for you. Tea and refreshments provided free afterwards.

"Thank you for all your wise words, The birth was incredible in so many ways because I felt so empowered to trust my body and my baby! I ended up being able to breath her out with j-breaths and Gas and air in about an hour, and felt like she just knew what to do and told me when I needed to breath her out and when she needed a nudge! It was the most beautiful moment of my life and she's been a very calm and gentle baby since then. So thankyou so much for giving us the skills to stay in control and bring out girl into the world with confidence! Hope you are well and this maybe helps others about to birth another nudge towards total confidence in their bodies!"
- Beth

"Viv is a wonderful thing; she makes everyone feel so good about themselves - it's lovely to watch people coming in looking all shy and then laughing their heads off a few minutes later. I'll look forward to her mother and baby classes when mine arrives!" - Rosie
