An accessible 3-hour workshop to develop ways to more fully integrate your breath into your yoga practice. Physical postures are often foregrounded in our yoga practice at the expense of our breath - but breath-centred practices are at least as important as the physical postures, offering transformative effects physically, energetically and on our nervous system.
Often we forget the focus of breath in yoga, perhaps even holding our breath, or falling into unhelpful breathing patterns that can involve struggle and frustration and end up being counter productive. We might advance our posture set but still not have the basics of breath. Bringing the breath into the foreground enables a fuller and more engaging practice for body and mind and a spaciousness that wasn't possible before.
We will spend time exploring our own yoga practice and breathing patterns and ways in which we can start to take this further. We will start to understand what a truly breath-centred yoga practice might feel like, moving beyond just linking movement and breath together and bring our breath into the heart of our yoga practice as a fundamental tool for health, stamina, greater freedom and support.
The afternoon session will aim to provide a new found perspective on breath-centred yoga and will offer handouts for home practice.
Feedback from previous workshops "I finally understand what the breath is about - thank you" "Such a refreshing approach to yoga practice and your teaching style is both thorough yet gentle." "Clara met each of us where we are in terms of yoga practice. This allowed me to feel safe and comfortable. Thank you. I feel both energised and calm."
