Taking it further

I still remember my first foundation course back in 2005 with Paul Harvey and it was a moment that I have never looked back from. I had always enjoyed yoga classes and was a regular practitioner, but didn't really understand why I did certain things or how it worked or what was different about what I was doing compared to other exercise.  I had a regular class practice but the teacher didn't have time to address my interest or help me with my practice as an individual. I was curious but didn't really know how to frame my curiosity - all I knew was that yoga helped me in my life to feel stronger, more vital, less stressed and more able to cope. Hopefully this course will open the doors to a deeper understanding and begin to address questions and any practice difficulties to help develop our practice. The course is based on my two-day in person course which was developed in collaboration with Paul Harvey.

This course is for interested yoga practitioners from any style of practice who want to explore and understand yoga more fully. It is suitable for all abilities except complete beginners and will be accessible to everyone who is interested. Also suitable for yoga teachers who want to understand more about the Krishnamacharya - Desikachar viniyoga approach to yoga. Krishnamacharya was the forefather of modern yoga and his teachings underpin the Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, Hatha etc. styles of yoga practice so these underpinnings are broadly applicable. Also great for those wanting to take a foundation course before embarking on teacher training. Levels 1 and 2 are the equivalent of the 60-hour British Wheel of Yoga, the Association of Yoga Studies, and the Yoga Alliance Foundation Courses and all are a great way to deepen your understanding or prepare you for yoga teacher training. .

Experience of a group class or home yoga practice will help you to gain the most from this course. It includes a course handbook and guidance for home study and home practice.
Feel free to get in touch to see if this will be right for you.
