Yoga in-studio - keeping everyone safe

19/7/2020

Bristol YogaSpace live studio classes during the Covid 19 pandemic, what's changed?
We are keeping all safety protocols in place even after restrictions lift while case numbers remain so high.

Space
Ventilation
Masks to your mat
Sanitising between classes
Bring your own mats

We're proceeding with caution with all In Studio attendance and have robust safety measures in place.

We’ll also continue to offer many of our classes online for the foreseeable future and the in-person classes will often also offer attendance via Zoom.

The studio feels a little different to help keep you and our teachers safe. Here are the additional safety measures we have put in place based on the government guidelines that have been issued and we welcome feedback as we navigate this ever-changing time.

Plenty of space

  • Reduced numbers in our classes for extra distance and space to breath with plenty of space between each participant. We're carefully following sensible measures on space and have great ventilation.
  • We have some classes offering in-person attendance, and 30 minutes between classes to allow for full cleaning and ventilating of the space.

Equipment sharing

  • Please bring along your own mat (and blocks if you have them) and water bottle.
  • There will be designated spaces for your mat to be placed.
  • Please arrive changed where possible.
  • Blocks and mats may be available and we will clean and quarantine them after use for 72 hours so it depends on availability.

Booking and attending

  • Pre-booking and pre-paying online only please or by contacting your teacher -  sorry no unannounced drop-ins for now so that we can carefully manage the numbers.
  • You will be greeted at the entrance and invited in when we are ready so that there aren’t more than 2 in the foyer at a time.
  • Please wear a mask until you are on your mat, when you are welcome to remove it.
  • Please be on time - strictly no late arrivals I’m afraid. We will lock the door at the start of the class. You will still be able to join online.
  • MoveGB members can only attend online due to the changes they made to their business model. Please see the previous blog post for more on that.

Reducing transmission potential

  • Ventilation - we're lucky to have a great flow through of fresh air from our windows and doors. We also have robust heating to counteract the coolness (including under floor heating). We'll be using open windows and doors so just in case, bring along an extra layer if it is windy outside.
  • We'll fully ventilate the space between each class and are allowing at least 30 minutes between classes.
  • We’ve implemented stringent cleaning of all touched surfaces in between every class.
  • We have hand sanitiser available  and hand washing facilities with paper towels.
  • We are asking for mask wearing until you are on your mat in your space in the studio. Hopefully we are all used to that by now.
  • Please don’t come if you have any symptoms. You can still practice gently online if you feel well enough.

We will update these guidelines as we feel the need and please feel free to give suggestions so that you feel relaxed and comfortable at the studio when you take your practice.

Look forward to seeing you soon and hope you stay well.
